12" Dobsonian Telescope 3D Printed Upgrades
Whatcom Association of Celestial Observers (https://whatcomastronomy.com/) has a homemade dobsonian that I was able to borrow to observe the great conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn during the winter of 2020. The scope has an 8" primary mirror, and a very simple focusing mechanism. After using the scope for several weeks I set about making the following improvements:
New mount for the focus rack New dust cover (it came with a plastic shopping bag over it) New mount for finder scope New mount for red dot finder Collimation tool and dust cap
Here are some photos and links to the files I came up with. I posted the focus mount on thingiverse at: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4799399 and the finder brackets at :https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4799424
